Artistically, Noailles street art is a combination of commissioned work and graffiti, with boundaries between the two, mostly invisible. As a newcomer to the city, the confrontational nature of the artwork hit me. My reaction was disbelief, anger and sadness at the visual destruction of the heart of the oldest city in France. 

The district is my home. Imperceptibly my attitudes softened first to benign tolerance then later to delight at the colour, form, wry observations, fun and laughter found in artworks that were slathered everywhere, over everything.
